We live in a culture where it seems that long-lasting marriages are headed for the endangered species list. Divorce rates are over 50%, even for Christians! Is it really possible for our love and our marriages to last a lifetime? Believe it or not, yes it is. But to have the kind of marriage relationship that God wants us to enjoy, we need to have an understanding of marriage is meant to be, as well as the tools to help when we face difficulties. This series is intended to give us biblically based answers and ideas to help today’s marriages weather the storms that are sure to come.
January 31: Blueprint
Most people think of marriage as a union of two people: a man and a woman. But this is not entirely true; marriage is really a union of three: man, woman and God. It’s true! God’s design for marriage was never supposed to be a two entity proposition. Marriage built to last are those built upon a foundation of Jesus Christ! Thus, when difficult times come (and they will) the couple is not just relying upon themselves to make it through, but also on their faith in Christ. It’s God blueprint for success!
