December 6, 2009: Prepare
It's hard to believe, but the Christmas season is now officially upon us! And while it is a time of great joy, it can also be a time of stress and tension as the list of "things to do" begins to pile up: get the Christmas ornaments out and up, order the Christmas cards, tons of presents to purchase, and the list goes on. This year, before the Christmas rush begins in earnest, let's take a moment or two to do something out of the ordinary...let's take a moment to prepare for Christmas. That may seem a little strange but, believe it or not, it is biblical! Because that is exactly what John the Baptist taught before the first Christmas: to search our hearts and "Prepare the way for the Lord." This Christmas, let's do the same.

December 20, 2009: The King of Glory
When we think of the Christmas story, we usually focus on the baby Jesus or even his mother Mary. But the one character in the story that doesn't typically get much attention is Joseph. Ever consider his story? The woman he loves and is engaged to tells him that she is pregnant. And, oh by the way, the father is God! How Joseph reacts to this incredible, even unbelievable news, gives us a wonderful example to follow in our relationship with Christ. This Christmas Sunday, we invite you to hear the Christmas story through the eyes of Joseph.

December 27, 2009: The Great Exchange
With Christmas now officially over, it’s time for our next great American tradition: gift exchanging! You know: taking something that was meant for you and exchanging it for something else. Did you know that Jesus - the greatest gift we could ever have - did the same thing for us? What? Yes, he took something that was meant for us - something we deserved - death, due to our sin, and instead made an exchange. And what we now have is an opportunity to experience new life in Jesus. The Apostle Paul put it this way: "God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God". We invite you to hear the good news of 'The Great Exchange!'
